Passed 1/2 way thru the 2300km Great Barrier Reef Swim Distance Challenge today - 1150km!!!

Jan. 27th, 2013:
In the pool 6 days/week; 8-9 swims & 2 dryland - pushing my training partner Colin hard, he is targeting an Ironman Kona qualification this year! H2Overdrive for SUMMER 2013! BOOM! Blue Dynamite!

Sept. 20th, 2012:
SWIMMING FAST - FOR THE SHARKS! is now working with SEA SHEPHERD BRAZIL in a campaign to pass a law for a full moratorium on the fishing of all shark species along Brazil's coastline. FINS UP! H2O Fast - 4 the Sharks!

Aug. 11th, 2012:
Sun City Swim 4k: 55:50 - 2nd overall. Cut 4 mins off my time from last year! Birthday race! It's not how old you are, it's how fast you can swim!

Aug. 10th, 2012:
Congratulations to Richard Weinberger for taking the BRONZE for Canada in the 10k swim at the 2012 London Olympic Games! He went: 1:50:00.3!

Aug. 3rd, 2012:
FINA 10k Traversée Du Lac Memphrémagog race in Magog, Quebec! 2:55:00 - 7th (Men).

July 14th, 2012:
Bring on the Bay 3k race: 39:14 - 2nd (30-40), 10th overall, 466 swimmers! Today also marks 1 1/2 years raw vegan and 1/3 of the way thru the 2300km Great Barrier Reef Distance Challenge!

June 3rd, 2012:
ZOOT 4k race: 59:56 - 1st (30-40), 4th overall. Closing in fast on 600kms into the Great Barrier Reef Distance Challenge - For our Sharks!

August 17th-19th, 2011:
Blue shark trip off Rhode Island. My first time seeing Blue sharks in the open ocean...absolutely beautiful animals, I'm totally overwhelmed and in absolute awe. Their iridescent deep blue indigo colouring is incredible. I had an 8-foot one pretty much slam right into me to end the day! FINS UP!

August 6th, 2011:
Sun City Swim 4k: 59:20 - 2nd overall. Huge thanks to my support kayaker Rachel! For the Sharks! The race also marks 159km into the Great Barrier Reef Distance Challenge!

Aug. 7th, 2010:
Supported at a shark finning awareness protest at Casino Rama Resort & Casino, about an hour north of Toronto. One of their restaurants, The Willow, has 12 shark fin dishes on the menu...

 

July 17th, 2010:
Bright's Grove 3k Ontario Open Water Championships! I placed 2nd in my age group and 3rd Overall. For the Sharks! FINS UP!
 

Feb. 20th, 2010:
14.5k ocean swim from Whitsunday Island to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef in a campaign to help protect sharks and raise awareness about the importance of these animals in our oceans. This was the first time anyone has done the crossing between these two islands. For the record we did not see any sharks on the swim....
